Hush, Hush Book Review

Hi Guys,
Today I'm going to be reviewing a book that was released several years ago. It's been read and reviewed by everyone and their mother, and I just read it a few days ago, Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. The hype around this book had me worried that it wouldn't live up to my expectations, but it was better than I thought it would be. Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

A SACRED OATH
A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

My first impression of this book was that it would be amazing, I first bought it back in 2009, and I'd never read an angel book. The cover looked amazing though, and I thought that it would be just as amazing. I've had it on my shelf since the day I bought it, and I also bought Crescendo and Silence, the second and third books in the series,. when they came out. I let three of my friends read this book before I even thought about reading it, and their reactions were all the same: "OH MY GOD!!! You have to read this book NOW!", but I never really felt the urge to pick it up. Then I finally decided to pick it up, and I couldn't put it down. It was amazing, I loved the story line, the suspense, the sarcastic humor, and the romantic tension between Patch and Nora. I really was amazed at how much I loved this book, the only thing I didn't really like was that it was a little slow in the first couple chapters, but other than that, it was very fast-paced and action-packed. I give this book 4/5 stars, and I can't wait to read Crescendo. If you guys haven't read this novel, which you probably have, PICK IT UP! It's worth your time, and you will have a new book to add to your favorite books shelf. Check out the blog tomorrow for my second #FridayReads post, and I'll see you guys then.
