Beastly Book Review

Hi Guys, This week I'm doing a book review on a book I just finished this past week. the book is Beastly. You may have heard of the movie coming out this Friday March 4th 2011. The book is a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast that's based in the modern day, and here is the summary from the back of the book:

I am a beast.
A beast!
Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll, stay this way forever ruined unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly...beastly.

My first impression of this book was good, because it has a very Gothic look to it. I'm not going to lie, I saw the movie trailer before I wanted to read the book, but in my defense, guys don't really look for books with flowers on them. I loved the idea for the book, it was a very great read. I read it in 3 days (would have been sooner but I had schoolwork)I liked everything except, the fairy-tale happy ending. I didn't like that at all. Everything besides the ending was good though. I give this book 4/5 stars, because of it's too-happy ending. I hope you guys like it as much as I did, and go see the movie this Friday (after reading the book of course)
